Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) offers a comprehensive rehabilitation program for people who need physical, occupational or speech therapy. Our services also include a total joint replacement program to assist patients with pre-op preparations and post-op recovery.
If you need home health rehabilitation, VNA's accredited therapists will evaluate your needs and work closely with your primary physician to coordinate a customized care plan. Through our results-driven approach to rehabilitation and therapeutic instruction, VNA can help you regain strength, mobility and independence.
Physical Therapy
Physical therapy is the use of exercise and other targeted activities that help condition your muscles to restore strength and movement. VNA provides physical therapy to patients with injuries, deformities or disabilities, and severe weaknesses caused by surgery, including total knee and total hip replacements.
Our physical therapy program is designed to help you restore capabilities in the following areas:
VNA physical therapists also provide these other helpful services:
Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapy is designed to help you regain or develop everyday skills for an independent and productive life. VNA provides occupational therapy to patients with permanent or temporary impairments that diminish physical or mental abilities to perform routine tasks around the home.
By teaching you how to safely use various techniques and equipment, VNA's occupational therapists help you recover daily functions like grooming, cooking and eating, managing medications and more.
Speech Therapy
At its core, speech therapy helps you regain the basics of speaking, primarily through oral motor exercises, audio-visual aids and alternative communication devices.
VNA's speech therapy program also extends beyond verbal communication. We evaluate and treat conditions that affect chewing and swallowing, memory, language processing, hearing and more. If you have been afflicted with dysphasia, stroke, cancer, multiple sclerosis or any other condition that impacts speech abilities, VNA can help.
Total Joint Replacement Program
You will be up and moving quickly after total joint replacement surgery, but complete recovery is a lengthy process—and no one is more qualified to assist than the highly skilled therapists of VNA. We can help you become fully prepared before surgery and recover as quickly as possible afterwards. Our goals are to help you safely improve mobility and regain independence after your total hip or knee replacement.
To accomplish these goals, VNA's total joint replacement program provides the following home health services:
By coming to your home, our total joint replacement program allows you to recuperate in the comfort and security of a relaxed, familiar setting. It also enables our therapists to personally witness any daily challenges you face around the home, so we can adjust your customized care plan accordingly. Our home health therapists also teach key techniques to regular caregivers, family and friends, so they may further assist in your recovery.
